Celebrating
Local Heroes
on a World Stage
Global High School Initiative
Initiative Overview
Hometown Hero is an international initiative designed for high school students worldwide. Participants identify, research, and celebrate an unsung hero from their own community, an individual whose contributions have made a lasting difference locally, yet whose story has never reached a global audience. Selected works will be exhibited in a prestigious museum setting, bringing local stories to life on an international stage.
Mission
To empower high school students around the world to discover, document, and share the stories of extraordinary individuals in their own communities, amplifying voices that deserve to be heard far beyond their hometown.
Vision
A world where every community’s hidden heroes are known, valued, and celebrated, where young people become the storytellers who bridge the local and the global, and museums become spaces for living human stories.
Goal
To produce a curated, museum-quality exhibition of student-created works honoring hometown heroes from every corner of the world, fostering cross-cultural understanding, empathy, and pride in local heritage.
